Couple from Luton are beating their post-holiday blues

A couple from Luton are beating their post-holiday blues by banking a massive £10,784,075 Lotto Double Rollover jackpot from Wednesday 8th April’s draw.

Martyn White and wife Sandra were finishing off their packing for a week-long Easter break to Italy when they learnt of their National Lottery win on-line. But it took them a while to realise just how much they had won and nearly two weeks before they could hold the cheque for themselves! Martyn explains:

“It was Easter Saturday and we were leaving for our flight at lunchtime so I switched on my computer first thing to double check our flights and to see whether there were any delays. Whilst looking I saw there was an email from the National Lottery saying I was a winner but I assumed we had won a tenner again. I thought lovely – that will go in the holiday kitty. I wasn’t going to check but intrigue got the better of me and I logged onto my account. It took me ages to spot the amount and even then I thought the email was wrong – £10.7m was the jackpot prize but how much have I won? Next I checked the winning numbers and recognised them all… it began to dawn on me that it wasn’t a mistake and that we really had won!”

Still suspicious it was a prank of some sort, Martyn decided to check the lottery results on six other news and information web sites before he called Camelot to see if it was for real. Later in the morning he watched the Wednesday night National Lottery Draw Show on Catch-up TV and it finally began to sink in. However as they were due to leave for the airport in just a few hours time the money would have to wait for Martyn and Sandra!

Martyn, a sales manager for a vehicle electronics company, hopes to take early retirement whilst Sandra plans to swap her pastoral role at her local school for that of interior designer once they have found their dream home. “We are hoping to buy something nearby as we have lived here all our life and have lots of friends locally. I have always wanted a swimming pool and can’t wait to start planning the interior decoration of our new pad when we find it.”

Big win for Brian and Joan from Bolton, win £25 million

Brian and Joan Caswell from Bolton have jumped into third place in The National Lottery Rich List after winning a staggering £24,951,269.40. They banked half of the top prize in the EuroMillions draw on Friday June 12th, 2009.

Brian and Joan have quietly celebrated with close family across the weekend after learning of the win on Saturday morning. Brian went to his local shop as he does every Saturday to settle his paper bill and check his numbers. He recalled, “I had won £10 the week before so walked in all confident and said to the lad, I’m on a roll – here’s another winner.

“When he scanned the ticket his mouth dropped open and he went a little ashen. He called for his boss to verify the numbers and told me to contact Camelot. I didn’t have my glasses so couldn’t even read the numbers on the ticket he gave me, so I headed home to get it into focus.”

After consulting with Joan and daughter Helen, they called Camelot who confirmed the amazing win. The couple stayed in on Saturday night before Brian kept his feet on the ground with a trip to his local allotment on Sunday. By now rumours of a local winner were circling and he was amused to hear a fellow gardener comment that he bet the winner wasn’t up here ‘digging the soil’ after winning nearly £25 million.

Joan believes the win was instigated by her mother, who died two years ago, and who always bought lottery tickets for each member of the family. Joan revealed, “Brian always took mum shopping on Friday morning and she would return with tickets for each of us. She would make us each choose one and would then call on Sunday morning to make sure we had checked our numbers and to see who had won. Brian has carried on buying his tickets each Friday since she passed away and as soon as she heard my daughter said it must be Nanny’s tickets which had won.”

Brian’s first purchase will be a Range Rover which he has had his eye on for a while. Beyond that and the house it is travel plans which dominate the couple’s thoughts. He said, “I travelled a lot for work but never got to go to South America and I have always wanted to go to Rio. Joan isn’t a keen flyer but it will be much easier to persuade her now we can afford to go in the front of the plane. Also I would like to stand at the foot of Everest, I once flew over it and I would love to see it from the other end.”

Lottery winner Brian Caswell insisted today that his £25 million jackpot win would not change his life, but revealed he was planinng on splashing out on a trip on a flash car and a holiday to Rio.

Crazy Jackpot for the Euromillions Lottery Tickets – £85 million march 6th

It’s time to go mad folks, it’s time for another CRAZY Jackpot for the Euromillions Don’t miss out as there is no doubt going to be a crazy rush of Lottery tickets sales next week across all Europes participating countries.
The Euromillions Mega Jackpot game is to held on March 6th 2009 and the mega jackpot is going to be worth a crazy, and I MEAN, a crazy £85 million to a single winner.

The crazy thing about this CRAZY Jackpot is that it will rollover, unlike previous CRAZY Jackpots where the amount must be won even if it shared between lower division winners if the March 6th Jackpot isn’t won it will rollover to the following week. That means that with a rush of Lottery tickets sales it may well end up as high as £185 million which would surely be a record breaking jackpot.
Is that enough for anyone! Yes please!

If won by just ONE lottery player, this Euromillions jackpot will top any of the record jackpots seen on the game since its launch and if won by a British lottery player will more than double the highest jackpot ever won in the UK set by Angela Kelly, who scooped £35 million back in August 2007. Would you like to be the new Angela!

There is still one week to go before the massive Euromillions Lottery Mega Jackpot is up for grabs, but this week too as it’s a Euromillions rollover and this week’s jackpot is worth a MASSIVE £37 million too.

Unknown Perth woman has won £7.4 million on the Lotto.

Staff in the David Sands store in Tulloch Square were stunned when the customer tried to cash in the winning ticket from Saturday’s draw. Lottery operators Camelot confirmed there had been a jackpot winner but, because no publicity has been requested, could provide no details of who it was.

However, shop manager, Lorraine Ritchie confirmed Perth has a new multi-millionaire.

She said, “The person came in with her ticket, but it wouldn’t pay out so she was told to contact Camelot.

“It wasn’t a regular customer, but I have heard she lives round here.”

It is believed the winner is from the Hillyland area of Perth.

One surprised resident said, “That’s unbelievable — this is a fairly modest area so it’s fair to say someone’s life has been changed forever.”

A Camelot spokesman said, “If the winner requests publicity, that will come in due course, but there has been no such request made so far.”

The windfall win cements Perthshire’s position as Scotland’s luckiest area.

The National Lottery revealed last month the postcode area has seen the most lottery windfalls since the competition was launched in November 1994.

And a remarkable run of successes, which has seen £25 million in top prizes paid out locally, placed the PH postcode at sixth in the British “luckiest” chart produced every year by Camelot.
